Tharman talks cock on healthcare and taxes

Posted by Barrie on March 2, 2012

The PAPpy ministers are good at playing word gymnastics. They keep saying that we have one of the lowest taxes in the world. What a load of bull crap. What we have is one of the lowest INCOME tax structure in the world. But our TOTAL tax is very high. Taxes include COE, GST, Road Tax, simisai tax, blah, blah, blah…

However, what caught my eye is a report that Tharman said that in order to have first-world safety net, we must have first world taxes.

‘First-world social safety net’ means first-world taxes too: Tharman

Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam noted in Parliament on Thursday that some MPs had called for higher healthcare expenditure, but said that this would require higher taxes.

As it is, the Government is already increasing its healthcare expenditure from the current 1.5 per cent of Singapore’s gross domestic product to 3.5 per cent by 2030, he said. If Singapore’s spending on healthcare go up to 6 per cent of the GDP – which is what Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries spend – then it has to raise taxes too, he said.

Mr Tharman said he did not like the term ‘first world social safety net’ used by opposition MP Low Thia Khiang to describe the Budget earlier in the debate.

If Singapore had a first world social safety net, then this may mean first world taxes, said Mr Tharman.

So he says that we must have first world taxes to have first world safety net. Here’s a piece of data that shows how first world countries spend on healthcare, in terms of % GDP.

Total expenditure as % of GDP (most recent) by country
Partial screenshot

Tharman claims that for the next twenty years, we will increase our expenditure on healthcare to 3.5% of GDP. Tharman also mentioned that 6.1% of GDP (as suggested by WP) would cause us to have “first world taxes”.

That’s where the crap is. Let’s look at where we can really cut down on wastage in the first place. Our defence budget. We are among the highest spenders on defence in terms of % GDP in the world. Barring the Arab nations, who can splurge all the money they want, the only two first world countries that have a higher % GDP on defence than us are the two most warmongering nations in the world – US and Israel.

World Wide Military Expenditures – 2011
United States – 5.2% (mad country, creating wars)
Israel – 7.3% (mad country, killing civilian population)
Singapore – 4.9% (mad country?? Paranoid. No enemy also spend like hell)

Compare the above to other first world countries. The average is 1% to 2+% only. And Switzerland, the country that has NS like us and no wars for centuries? Yep, 1% only.

Can’t we reduce our mad defence budget and use that for the more needy healthcare area? Why not? I am not saying that we should not spend on defence. I am saying that we should cut down unnecessary spending on our defence.

Most of the spending is due to PAP’s and SAF’s paranoia for the Biiiig Baaaad Bogey Man from the North and South of us. After all, didn’t Chan Chun Sing, former army chief, try to scare us that there are 200+ million Indonesians out to usurp tiny Singapore, when they are more concerned about feeding their families, farming and fishing to earn a living, than to be concerned about Sinkiepore?

Not that Singapore has much to offer to these 200+ million Indonesians that it would make it worthwhile for them to invade us in the first place. If Sinkiepore, according to PAP, has to have taxes like first world to give 5 million first world safety net, that would mean Sinkiepore won’t be able to sustain 200+ million invaders, would it? So it would now come to one of these things:

1. Chan Chun Sing bluffed us that Sinkie is worth to be invaded by 200+ million hostile people.

2. Tharman bluffed us that we can’t support giving 5 million population first world healthcare, because Singapore can support 200+ million to make it worth their while to usurp us.

You see, PAPpies talk cock so much, they don’t even know they contradict each other.

My Conclusion

Tharman, by saying that we need to have first world taxes to have first world safety net, is not looking deep into where we can cut our spending. But then again, PAPpy, being paranoid about the Biiiig Baaad Bogeyman that lurks in the North and South of us, will of course be blind to the fact that we are wasting billions to feed their paranoia.

In the meantime, Sinkies will have to suffer because stingy paranoid PAP doesn’t want to spend on our healthcare more.

Site Stats Review of Where Bears Roam Free

Posted by Barrie on January 1, 2012

The Year 2011 is closed and gone. Here’s a look at the site stats of Where Bears Roam Free for the year 2011.

Here’s the total pageviews for “All Time”, which is actually not all time because the period starts from May 2009 and not from the start of this blog.

Chan Chun Sing, as you can see, is the Number One crowd puller to this site. Followed by Nicole Seah (a very distant second), then LKY and Chen Show Mao. It used to be LKY was the Number One before the GE in May 2011.

Next image below is the search for keywords. Note that this Ah Beng guy is so “popular” it even beats my own “where bears roam free” keyword search. Out of over 7000+ keyword searches, Ah Beng totals about 35% of my total search engine results that land up here! Those who search for this site keying “where + bears + roam + free” make up about 26% only.

In fact, search engines have been consistently sending me hits from surfers who type “Chan Chun Sing” till today. So much so, that the all time top post of Ah Beng is able to feature in my Top Ten posts (Last 7 Days) every consecutive week, since April 2011. Screenshot below was taken on 1 Jan 2012 at about 12 noon.

Next, let’s take a look at where visitors come from. (Period – 31 Dec 2010 to 30 Dec 2011)

(Click on image to have clearer view)

The top referrer is Google search, followed by those who come to this site directly. This is followed by the sites, Singapore Daily, Singapore News Alternative and Facebook.

Those who come here through search engines and direct means tend to stay longer and view more pages than those who have been referred. Quite typical, since the former two groups are the guys who came here with the intention to either find out more on what they searched for, or to read what has been posted here.

I consider if you have a large data figure like 10,000+ and if those figures show that your readers read more than 1 page and stayed for more than 1 and a half minutes, it is a sign you have attracted quality readers. They are willing to stay on your site long enough to explore around and not just take a quick look at the landing page and leave after a few seconds. This means that a large portion of your readers did not come here to “touch and go” just because you have been referred to by another party.

Finally, we take a look at the daily stats. Screenshot below was taken on 1 Jan 2012 @ 3.00pm. The day starts from midnight.

Well, those are the stats for this site. Have a happy and prosperous New Year 2012!

Comparing Chinese Chauvinism to Nazi Supremacy

Posted by Barrie on December 19, 2011

I have been putting up articles about the fact that the bilingual system and Mother Tongue issue has been given too much of a Chinese Chauvinist twist. Whenever the issue of bilingualism and/or Mother Tongue comes up, somehow it is always about the preservation of the Chinese Language and Culture. As if there are no other Mother Tongue languages and/or other cultures in Singapore.

This forum letter below however, beats them all. Not only it is chauvinistic, it is self-glorification which has reached a supremist level. Reading it reminds me how the Nazis see themselves as the superior race, where everyone else must kowtow to.

Mandarin, dialects and English

I CONCUR with Dr Yik Keng Yeong (‘Bilingual proficiency is about attitude’; last Wednesday) that there is no scientific evidence that exposure to vernacular dialects is harmful to the mastery of Chinese.

I grew up with the Teochew dialect and learnt English only when I was seven years old. In Secondary 1, I started learning Putonghua (Mandarin, the official language of China) and passed my Chinese four years hence by the skin of my teeth. I ignored Chinese in university but resurrected it when I started work because I had to. Today, I can read Chinese newspapers.

Chinese Singaporeans speak several dialects but they share the same writing system based on Chinese characters. My late father could read Chinese papers in the Teochew dialect.

Studies have shown that people who speak a tonal language like Chinese possess a form of absolute pitch, something that is possessed by people with unusual musical talent such as Mozart and Beethoven.

Studies using brain scans have found that Mandarin speakers use more areas of their brain than people who speak English. Unlike English speakers who use only one side of their brain, Mandarin speakers generally use both sides.

Dialects including Hokkien and Teochew are not only tools for communication but are also living fossils carrying culture. They are invisible wires that link people with different backgrounds to one another and let them share their thoughts, ideas and emotions.

We can jettison our dialects but they will be irretrievably lost to our future generations.

Heng Cho Choon

Note that it is all about how superior the Chinese Language is. Nothing about Mother Tongue itself and how it affects our students.

If Chinese Chauvinists want to preserve the Chinese Language and/or Culture, that if fine with me. However, using the Mother Tongue to do that is highly chauvinistic, because it gives scant regard (and respect) to non-Chinese speaking students and people. Chinese Chauvinists can always set up their own self-funded programmes to promote their chauvinism if they wish, and not use public assisted programmes (through MOE or other ministries and/or stat boards) like Mother Tongue in schools.

It amazes me how these chauvinists (as well as MOE, PAP and the mass media) are not able to perceive the sensitivities of the non-Chinese speaking citizens, whenever they discuss about bilingualism and/or Mother Tongue.

Also note the tone of arrogance and “superiority feeling” in the forum letter above, that Chinese is a superior language and/or race, to the point the writer feels he has the right to sideline other languages and races. As if those cultures and languages don’t exist.

You could say, this shows Chinese Chauvinism at its supreme form. I prefer to say that this is the Chinese version of Nazi supremacy and mindset.

MRT down, commuters walk on tracks

Posted by Barrie on December 15, 2011

SMRT is really screwed. Lost count how many times it broke down. This time, it is so bad we have commuters who had to walk along the tracks. Imagine doing that in the underground tunnels.

Breakdown on North-South MRT line

Train services along the MRT North-South line are down.

Channel NewsAsia is getting reports that services are affected on both directions, from Marina Bay to Braddell.

There is darkness reported at some stations.

One viewer said he is stuck at Toa Payoh station.

While another said he is held up between Orchard and Somerset stations and that the train is in total darkness.

Another viewer, Nizam Rahim, said his wife is stuck in a train at Dhoby Ghaut station and commuters are being evacuated and walking out of the tunnel.

Peak hour traffic is also affected in some parts.

Passengers described scenes of confusion, as they tried to make sense of the situation.

One commuter, Adam, said he and hundreds of passengers were stuck on the train travelling from Somerset to Orchard.

The electricity appears to have been cut off, as the train was in total darkness.

Neither did the air-conditioner seem to be working.

Adam said: “We have been stranded there for one hour, and it is very hot and stuffy. The train doors are all closed. The light also suddenly (switched off), so it’s total darkness.

“The train doors (are) also not open, and it is terrible.

“A lot of people angry, banging on the windows to break the windows, I don’t know whether (the windows) can (be) broken or not, so that the air can come in. It’s very stuffy, it’s like a sauna.”

Adam later told Channel NewsAsia that the train appeared to have been towed to Orchard MRT station.

Someone in one of the carriages then forced the train doors open, freeing the trapped passengers.

Another commuter, who wanted to be known as Mr Tan, spoke to Channel NewsAsia from Raffles Place MRT station.

He was on his way to work, and heard several announcements asking passengers to avoid the North-South line and to take the East-West line instead.

Mr Tan said: “A lot of us all have problems. There are so many people coming downstairs and people telling them the train is not moving anymore. I think the crowd is getting very big.

“The only thing I know is that I’m late for work, so I have to take alternative route. So I quickly ran upstairs to get a taxi, hopefully I can get a taxi. Now I’m still trying to get a taxi actually.”

Another spoke to us from Toa Payoh station, and said there were long queues of people, who seemed to be requesting refunds.

Jason Neo’s case over-hyped, support for Muslims shown misplaced

Posted by Barrie on November 18, 2011

What’s with this broken record playing over and over about Jason Neo? He has removed the offensive post and apologised. He has also resigned from Young PAP. Young PAP has also distanced itself from Jason’s irresponsible action. Most importantly, the Police is investigating the case and due justice will be done.

So what’s with this hyped-up Jason Neo bashing? The latest of the bashers has to come from TOC. Jason Neo: Kid with outstretched arms ‘inspired my thoughts’. Yep, although TOC doesn’t say much, take a look at the comments that it attracted. Isn’t that the intention of article? That is, it is intended to attract bashers?

I can’t help feeling there’s a tinge of hypocrisy in this whole episode. The hypocrisy that some parties are trying to say they are concerned for minorities. It appears more of an opportunity to exploit, because somehow this Jason guy has (or rather had) links with the PAP and/or govt.

This episode reminds me of the curry incident where the New Media played up Singaporeans’ concern for an Indian Singapore family. They had to cook curry when their Chinese National neighbours found the aroma from their curry too strong – Curry Cooking Case blown out of proportion and Curry Case – if this is not xeno, what is it?

Why I am against hyped-up, overdone, Jason bashing -

If we keep bashing PAP for incidents they have no control of (eg the Jason Neo case), it would look trivial and petty to the point that if a real issue is worth pointing out, that issue would also look nothing more than petty PAPpy-bashing.

Furthermore, carrying on an issue when it has been taken over by the authorities makes the concern by commentators look artificial. I see that the issue of Jason Neo is settled. The Police has taken over. What need to use this incident to show that these people are concerned about Muslims now? As if these people were around to defend Muslims, when Muslims have faced discrimination in Singapore for decades. To me, it looks like an opportunistic attempt to bash PAPpy, that’s all.

The real racist issues Muslims are facing -

One of the real issues the Muslim society is facing is the discrimination and stereotyping of Muslims, especially by the SAF. I am not just talking about Muslims being barred from sensitive areas of the SAF. I am talking about the SAF mindset that if you are a Muslim, you are a potential threat.

This discriminatory mindset is deeply seated in the minds of the highest ranks of the SAF and the PAP. That’s why we have Chan Chun Sing who thinks that we have 200+ million Muslims out to get tiny Singapore, and Teo Chee Hean who implicitly justifies why we should worry about Muslims in his statement about the arrests of some JI members.

Compared to Jason Neo’s insensitive post, isn’t this mindset among the top brains even worse? After all, it is the likes of Chan Chun Sing and Teo Chee Hean who are the ones that will be involved in the policies that affect Muslims. Who the heck then is Nobody Jason Neo?

Where action should be taken -

So if these citizens really wanna show concern for racist type discrimination against Muslims, take action where it is needed most. The area that is needed most is that we must remove all pre-conceived and bias thought, that is deeply seated in the minds of high ranking PAPpies, and not about a kid named Jason Neo, who can’t even influence anybody.

The area that needs to be looked at includes the HDB quota system which is a burden to minorities; the SAP School system which favours one race over others; forcing all Chinese to adopt Han Culture even when these Chinese are ethnic minorities; and the very highly divisive race funds, namely the CDAC, Mendaki, Sinda etc funds.

Of course, the Number One racist is none other than LKY himself, who keeps cooking up stories of how violent the Muslims are, rioting in the streets in the 1960s, when it has always been the Chinese who have been involved in all major riots, with the exception of the Maria Hertogh Riot – History of Riots in Singapore – LKY’s racist version has to be stopped

So if commentators want to show the true spirit of racial harmony, let’s remove all these governmental discriminatory practices, institutions and historical bias. Jason Neo is harmless compared to the real racists sitting pretty in Parliament, Cabinet and PMO.

PS – There’s another parallel incident that’s brewing – Breaking: Sedition Act report filed against SAF personnel. Yeah, with the big guns in PAPpy and SAF who are the real racists and Islamophobes, what do you expect from their juniors?

Parents, not school, should teach children character development

Posted by Barrie on November 8, 2011

What an unworkable idea. Getting schools to teach children “to develop character” through CCA, that is. MOE talks as if character building is a teaching topic that can fit into a teaching subject or something of that sort. Silly fellas.

Schools look at using CCAs to teach values and life lessons

Principals and teachers are brainstorming on how co-curricular activities (CCAs) can be further harnessed to develop character, as they craft plans for the next work year.

Ideas range from encouraging greater participation in intra-school meets, to creating more opportunities for students to pursue sports recreationally.

School-wide competitions – open to all except those already in school teams – are one avenue Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) is exploring. Catholic High School is looking at providing students with better resources to help more of them attain a higher sporting standard.

The issue of CCAs and how they can help in a child’s development is expected to be among the discussion topics at the first Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) conference, which starts on Tuesday.

Some ideas as to how CCAs can be further used to develop character include encouraging greater participation in intra- school meets, and creating more opportunities for students to pursue sports as recreation. — ST FILE PHOTO

Golf to teach character developoment through interaction? What about parents who can’t afford that high expense activity? WTH. During my time, all we need was catching spiders. Fun sport and lots of interaction too!

I’ll be very direct and straight. The idea is for the govt to mold your children into non-thinking, non-questioning, obedient citizens who will grow up to believe that the current govt is their second parent.

What’s this “brainstorming of ideas” to “develop character” stuff? Isn’t the character of each child unique? What’s wrong with each different child having a different character? What need to brainstorm ideas to create a “standard” character that’s “acceptable”? Or does MOE mean “values”, which still is the parents’ job anyway.

On one hand, we hear MOE talking about how it wants our students to be diverse. Hence, we have JC schools getting students to take contrasting subjects and different activities. On the other hand, we have a programme that is supposed to “develop character” (what the heck is that?), such that a certain objective is to be met – ie schoolchildren are expected to have a “certain type of character”! And that is supposed to be achieved through CCA.

MOE should go back to basics instead of trying to mold every child and student into a uniform, homogeneous population of yesmen and yeswomen citizens – then only for the govt to complain that Singaporeans have no talent and diversity such that we need foreigners to fill in the shoes!

Fair Warning to Spammer Doc

Posted by Barrie on October 31, 2011

Regulars of this blog know that there’s a crazed troll/spammer here whom I name as “Spammer Doc” because he holds a PhD (in Psychology from a foreign U) and he has a record of posting odious comments and links, including hate and porn.

Doc, I have decided to show you my cards because I think you are calling my bluff. Sorry to let you know that I wasn’t bluffing at all when I say I can see you.

Site Trackers -

I have put up quite a few trackers. It is not that I wanna snoop who’s on my site. But when I get a few hundred unique visitors a day, including Big Bro Agencies both from Sinkie authorities (yeah I know who you are) as well as from the US (cos Google’s server is hosted there), I need to make sure I know who’s the guy who has been posting hate posts and porn here.

OK, for the moment, let’s chuck Spammer Doc aside. We”ll come back to him later.

For now, let’s talk about what my trackers do. See the image below. Note that every detail is captured. Entry, exit – including the exact date and time, right down to the minute/second. Note that you even get to see the exit points.

(IP Address blanked out – PS this person isn’t Spammer Doc)

Please note that I do not snoop on people although I can do it easily as you can see from above. I have a few hundred unique visitors a day and I don’t have the time and luxury to go round seeing who my readers are. The purpose of putting the image above is to show the Spammer Doc that I have the ability to see spammers and trolls in detail if I choose to do so.

Note that the hyperlinks are of course clickable and would lead the admin (ie me) to the exact webpage the surfer has been, be it on this blog or another website.

Spammer Doc’s spams -

This one below is Spammer Doc.

Note that he made two comments one on 31 Oct at 0441h, and another on 31 Oct at 0445h. He posted spams and rubbish which has been removed in the thread “Unnecessary Health Treatment (Part 2)”.

Now compare the above date and times to the image below. This is my email notification of his two spam comments which were removed. Note the date and time – posted in the thread “Unnecessary Health Treatment (Part 2)” on 31 Oct at 0444h and 0447h. (The 3 min delay and 2 min delay on the first and second posts between the tracker and my email is due to time lag email notification.)

Spammer Doc’s hate posts -

So doc, it is not that I can’t see you. Please also remember in Jun last year, you posted hate on this site and stupidly used an identifiable account (Beast) for the police to track you. Remember this hate post you made against Christians, placing an expletive beside the name of Jesus? See the image of my email notification below which I captured. (Expletive word blanked off).

Wanna me to publish your IP Address on that one, doc? I am sure many people would love to have that – the Police included!

Besides the above, I have tons of your hate posts that bash Christians, as well as other hate posts of yours which includes hate against Muslims, Malays, Palestinians. I also captured your posts and other of your IP addresses when you posted porn links.

Final Word -

Doc, just note that if I, an amateur, am able to see you so easily, Big Bro will be able to see you too. Or if they can’t, I will gladly give them my data if they were to ask for it.

For your own sake, I suggest you stop posting hate and porn, spamming sites on the Internet. It would certainly be very embarrassing if your name and face were to appear in the papers and in the news for such odious behaviour – especially for an academic who holds a PhD, no?

Finally, don’t ever, ever, ever call my bluff. As you can see, I have no bluffs. When I say I know who you are, I am not bluffing.

LKY’s veiled war threat against Malaysia

Posted by Barrie on September 7, 2011

That’s it. This has got to be the last straw. Old Man Lee has been spewing nonsense the last twenty years since he stepped down from being PM. However, nothing beats this insane statement, which is about short of threatening a war against our closest neighbour.

LKY is mad. Simply mad! There’s only one other madman in the world who taunts others into war and that is GW Bush with his “bring ‘em on” remark to Iraqi insurgents. Well, they did and a few days later, US troops were maimed, killed and humiliated in numbers.

Looks like LKY is learning all the wrong things. He really should shut up and stop provoking others into hostility.

LKY says KL reprisal over land could have led to war

Singapore’s influential founding father Lee Kuan Yew has praised Malaysia for honouring agreements that resulted in the return of the Tanjong Pagar railway land to the republic saying any attempt to retaliate could have led to “war”

Lee told a forum of 1 700 students at the Nanyang Technological University NTU last night that he hoped the return of the Tanjong Pagar railway station to Singapore was a milestone in diplomatic relations with his Southeast Asian neighbour.

“I hope it is so It shows that Malaysians are observing the agreements they have signed without trying to retaliate in other directions such as water which will lead to war ” he was quoted as saying in an article on his speech published in the Singapore Straits Times today.

The land swap has been contentious since the Malaysia-Singapore Points of Agreement POA was signed in 1990 over the issue of the future of the railway land The POA was signed between Lee and former Malaysian Finance Minister Tun Daim Zanuddin.

LKY is making enemies and we Singaporeans are made to suffer. Now why should we be the innocent victims of his callous talk and negligent behaviour?

This bravado talk is nothing short of a Narcissist trying to act big. In fact, he ain’t got no ***** between his legs. If you recall in the 1980s, Malaysia was up in arms with Singapore because then President of Israel, Chaim Herzog, dropped by. The Malaysians demonstrated against Singapore.

What did LKY, who was then PM, do? He shifted the blame! He said he didn’t know about the visit. He said the then DPM Goh CT, and then ministers Rajaratnam and Jayakumar arranged the meeting and when he knew it, presto, all systems was on the go for Chaim to be in Singapore!

Do you believe such lies? He, the then PM, was not told that the Head of State of Israel was to be in Singapore?

Dinners and meetings had to be arranged. Security had to be arranged. Escorts had to be arranged. And the PM of Singapore didn’t know that?

Hellooo? Who is the Old Man trying to bluff?

He denied he knew because he was shivering in his pants that Malaysia was stinking mad that Singapore had invited the President of Israel for a visit. So he blamed three other clueless and hapless ministers.

Such cowardice! Now you believe he got the guts to declare war with Malaysia?

As for the return of Tanjong Pagar Land, I clearly remember that then Minister S Dhana tried his best to placate Singaporeans that the land KTM sat on is very much Singapore’s land and not Malaysian land. So there is really no issue about “return of land”.

The land KTM sat on was leased to KTM, just like any land owner who holds the strata title.

Now if that’s the case, and if KTM doesn’t want to give up the strata title, Singapore can force an eviction through the courts like what it has been doing to other strata title holders, no? What going to war and all this bravado talk LKY is engaging in?

LKY is getting old. He really needs to step down instead of wrecking good relations with our neighbours. Singaporeans have many friends and relatives up north. The last thing we need is for this Old Man to sour our relations with our neighbours.

For laughs, here is the article that reported his blatant and shameless lying denial. The Straits Times, 15 December 1986, Page 1

The headlines screamed “I knew of Herzog visit from papers – PM says he would have put it off in view of sharp statements on Zionism”

Screenshot

Really? He only knew from the papers? You mean his subordinates sprung a surprise party visit for him?

You really believe his horse manure? He sure was dead scared of Mahathir and the wrath of Malaysians to have made such a blatant denial!

And to think he has to gall to fib you into believing he was ready to go to war over Tanjong Pagar land! My toes are larfing!

Here are more lies from LKY:
Dumping the fallacies LKY created

>I am still around

Posted by Barrie on July 7, 2011

>Yes, I am still around (in S’pore that is). Haven’t moved yet. Thinking….considering…big decision….

What the heck….. I locked this blog for weeks and when I re-opened it to public this afternoon, within minutes, Google bot screened 9 pages in my blog. Even machines can’t seem to leave me on my own, let alone the people I have been avoiding the last few weeks – hence the locking of this blog.

I have lost track with S’pore politics, let alone world politics the last few weeks. Hence it would be some time b4 I do make any political posts, if I were to resume posting.

Anyway, here’s some “relaxation type” news I would like to share.

Some of you may wonder what happened

Thanks everyone, for all the comments and well wishes. I have decided to end my posts on politics, which has been very close to my heart.

This would be my last post in this blog. I know it is sudden, but I have been thinking about it for some time.

As some of you know, I am a Singapore citizen and a Canadian PR. I have decided that my new chapter in life would hence be Canada. I am leaving all things Singapore (ie news and the political landscape) behind me.

As such, news about Singapore would no longer be of my interest. Thus, this is the last post in this Singapore related issues blog.

It’s been nice to have you readers around, but as the saying goes, nothing in this world is static.

“Where Bears Roam Free” was created to signify the Canadian wilderness, where bears roam the wide expansive lands, free from all the chains of dirty politics. That’s where my heart truly is, so that’s where I’m heading to. The peace and serenity of life, away from the city and the mad, mad world.

Goodbye and good luck, my fellow Singapore netizens. Hello to the unspoiled and serene life.
